Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the RRB Technician post, candidates need to meet certain eligibility criteria based on educational qualifications and age limits.

• Education – Matriculation, SSLC, or ITI from NCVT/SCVT institution in the relevant trade, or an Act Apprenticeship in the relevant trade.
• Age Limit –

The RRB Technician Recruitment 2024 encompasses a three-stage selection process:

1. Computer Based Test (CBT): The initial stage involves a Computer Based Test conducted at various RRB exam centers. The exam comprises 100 questions, with one mark awarded for each correct answer. However, candidates should be aware of a 1/3rd negative marking for each incorrect response.

2. Document Verification: The second stage involves thorough documentation, where all original documents of applicants are scrutinized to ensure eligibility and legitimacy.

3. Medical Examination: The final stage assesses the medical fitness of candidates selected during the documentation process. Conducted by the Railway Board, this examination ensures candidates' ability to efficiently perform assigned duties for their chosen post.

For the Computer Based Test (CBT), the exam pattern varies between Technician Grade 1 Signal and Technician Grade III:

• CBT for Technician Gr 1 Signal:

  • General Awareness: 10 questions, 10 marks
  • General Intelligence & Reasoning: 15 questions, 15 marks
  • Basics of Computers and Applications: 20 questions, 20 marks
  • Mathematics: 20 questions, 20 marks
  • Basic Science & Engineering: 35 questions, 35 marks
  • Total: 100 questions, 100 marks

• CBT for Technician Grade III:

  • General Awareness: 10 questions, 10 marks
  • General Intelligence & Reasoning: 25 questions, 25 marks
  • Mathematics: 25 questions, 25 marks
  • General Science: 40 questions, 40 marks
  • Total: 100 questions, 100 marks

Upon successful completion of the selection process, the final appointment is subject to medical fitness verification.
